Our Vision:

Creating a world where people can live safely without the fear of natural disaster

Our Mission:

Striving for Zero earthquake victims

What is Masonry?

Masonry is considered as one of the oldest construction material and still the preferable construction material for buildings worldwide. It is estimated that over 60% of the world's population live in buildings having some form of masonry. Masonry essentially consits of invidual blocks (bricks, rocks, CHB etc.) arranged together usually with an adhesive agent(mostly cement mortar) to form strutural units.

The problem:

Although popular as a building material, masonry structures are extremely vulnerable to earthquakes if not designed/constructued properly. It is estimated that around 80% of earthquake victims over the last 100 years have been caused by collapse of masonry structures. Unlike Typhoons where a certain level of early warning is possible, the brittle collpase of masory structures happen all of a sudden when an earthquake occurs. At Aster we are striving towards solving this problem that haunts seismically vulnerable regions worldwide.
